The Gulf Coast has plenty to do during the holiday season if you know where to look. Many potential holiday traditions for the family are sprinkled around. Here are five new Christmas traditions you should try with your family and friends, brought to you by Daycool Heating & Air.
- Riverside Ice Skating: It’s not often that Southerners get the chance to go ice skating. Thanks to the Riverside Skate Park in downtown Mobile, you can make your ice skating debut. Affordable and family friendly, ice skating is a must-do this holiday season. Lace up your skates and hit the ice immediately. If you are nervous about learning or falling in front of other people, don’t despair! Children can take lessons on Saturday and adults can take lessons on Sunday. It’s a great way to learn something new together.
- Bellingrath Gardens Lights: Spanning more than 60 acres, Bellingrath Gardens attracts visitors from across the country each year during its annual “Magic Christmas In Lights” show. Bellingrath hangs more than 3 million lights and almost 1,000 Christmas decorations during the event. The self-guided tour may take from 1.5 to 2 hours and a tour of the estate takes approximately 30 minutes. Visitors can tour the grounds and the estate home during the garden’s extended hours from Nov. 25 to Dec. 31 until 9 p.m. Pictures with Santa are also available.
